Appointments

All consular counter services at the Singapore Embassy are by appointment only. Please send your appointment request and the relevant documents to the Embassy via email at singemb_jkt@mfa.sg. We will review your documents and contact you via email to arrange your appointment.

Notarial Services

The Embassy processes requests for notarial services on documents intended for use in Singapore. These services include witnessing of signature for Affidavit, Statutory Declaration and other types of documents (e.g. Power of Attorney and Singapore Government Forms), and certifying true copy of documents. Generally, we do not perform notarial functions on documents which will be used in a country other than Singapore, unless it is a requirement by the local authorities.

Legalisation of Documents

On 18 January 2021, Singapore acceded to the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCH) Convention of 5 October 1961 (“Apostille Convention”), abolishing the requirement of legalisation for foreign public documents. To operationalise the Apostille Convention, the Singapore Academy of Law (https://legalisation.sal.sg) is authorised to issue Apostilles for all Singapore documents bound overseas with effect from 16 September 2021.

As the Republic of Indonesia is also a party to the Apostille Convention, its Ministry of Law and Human Rights (https://apostille.ahu.go.id) is authorised to issue Apostilles. With effect from 16 September 2021, documents with an apostille affixed can be presented in Singapore directly without further legalisation from the Singapore Embassy.

Witnessing of Signature

For Affidavit and Statutory Declaration

The Embassy witnesses signatures on Affidavit and Statutory Declaration for use in Singapore. You are required to bring along the document(s), completed but not signed; valid identification documents like passport or NRIC; and any supporting documents as required.

For Documents (excluding Affidavit and Statutory Declaration)

The Embassy also witnesses signatures on documents like Power of Attorney and Singapore Government Forms. You are required to bring along the document(s), completed but not signed; valid identification documents like passport or NRIC; and any supporting documents as required.

Certify True Copy of Documents

Please bring the original and a photocopy of the document. The original document will be compared on site with the photocopy of the document for certification of true copy.

Kindly note that documents issued by the Singapore Government, such as birth/death certificates, birth/death extracts, and marriage certificates, may be certified as true copies at the Consulate/Embassy/High Commission. Other documents without the Singapore Government’s seal must be legalised at the Singapore Academy of Law (https://legalisation.sal.sg).
